Jay Kuri

Jay Kuri is the Director of Infrastructure Engineering at Clearco. Jay was previously a Site Reliability Engineer - Senior - Americas at Canonical from April 2017 to August 2021. Jay was responsible for supporting and managing the Canonical / Ubuntu production environments, providing support to external organizations, and working with multiple engineering teams on various production and pre-production initiatives. Jay also managed and maintained Ubuntu archive servers, and was responsible for all upgrades and software installations on Ubuntu linux. This involved observing load patterns and creating / proposing improvements to the architecture for package distribution and serving process. At heavy load periods, such as after a new version of Ubuntu was released, traffic could be above 100 Gigabit per second. If you have installed or updated an Ubuntu in the last 4 years, you pulled data from their servers.

Prior to Canonical, Jay served as President of Ionzero Inc from September 2016 to March 2017. From November 2000 to August 2002, they were a Senior System Engineer at Ticketmaster Entertainment. And from August 2013 to October 2015, they were CEO / CTO of Corvida Software.

Jay Kuri studied computer science at the University of Illinois Chicago.
