Michael Hogg

Michael Hogg has had a varied and accomplished career in mechanical design engineering. Starting in 2010, they were a Race Car Driver for Volkswagen North America. In 2013, they took on the role of Race Team Manager for The RaceLab Karting, where they were involved in many areas including race team management, professional driver coaching and instruction, mechanical services, strategic marketing and brand development, chassis development and set-up, engine tuning and rebuilding, and fabrication of parts. In 2015, they completed a 4 month internship as a Student Design Engineer in the suspension and structures department of Multimatic Technical Centre, where they gained valuable experience working on high volume production projects and learned how to effectively balance tasks, work within a large scale company, and how to approach engineering related problems in an efficient and effective manner. In 2016, they returned to Multimatic as a Student Design Engineer. In 2017, they took on the role of Design Engineer for Multimatic Inc. and in 2018, they were promoted to Senior Manager, Mechanical Design at ClearMotion, where they also held the roles of Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, and Mechanical Design Engineer.

Michael Hogg attended Capilano University from 2010 to 2013, where they completed an Engineering Transition Program. Michael then attended Western University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering. In November 2014, they obtained a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) - Mechanical Design from Dassault Systèmes.
