Justus Kilian

Justus Kilian has a broad range of work experience. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Global Securities Technician for Northern Trust Corporation. In 2007, they moved to Merrill Lynch where they worked as a Senior Financial Analyst on a nine member institutional team, overseeing $6.4 billion in assets. In 2012, they became a Summer Fellow for Start Up! India, providing non-financial expertise to civil society organizations. That same year, they also worked as an Operations Manager for Panzanzee, an accelerator focused on impact-driven businesses. In 2013, they worked as an Operations Manager and Interim CFO for Gulu Agricultural Development Company, a scaling start-up focused on agriculture extension in underserved areas of Northern Uganda. In 2014, they joined Acumen as a Post Investment Manager, working to redefine Acumen's portfolio construction methodology and launching a CEO development program. In 2021, they became a Board Director for ClearRoad and in 2022, a Board Observer for Lunar Outpost. Finally, in 2017, they joined Space Capital as a Partner and Principal, investing in the Space economy and managing over $100 million in assets.

Justus Kilian obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from The University of Kansas between 2001 and 2005, with a field of study in International Finance. Justus then obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business between 2010 and 2013, with a field of study in Econometrics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and International Business. In 2012, they obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst certification from the CFA Institute. In 2008, they obtained a Rescue Diver certification from PADI.
