Sam McSwain has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. In 2017, they worked as a Front Desk Receptionist at Portacool, LLC, where they provided administrative support, managed mail and packages, and answered calls. From 2022 to 2022, they served as a Community Assistant at The Michaels Organization, performing customer service tasks, assisting with administrative duties, and ensuring property maintenance. In 2022, Sam interned at Lone Star Sports & Entertainment as a Tax Act Texas Bowl Intern, helping with brand exposure, gameday operations, and team hotel setup. Sam also worked at Texas A&M University from 2020 to 2023 as a Student Assistant in Facilities and Operations, where they excelled in day-to-day operations and prioritized professionalism and attention to detail. Currently, Sam is an Event Operations Graduate Assistant at Clemson University Athletic Department, starting in 2023.

Sam McSwain completed their high school education at Center High School from 2015 to 2019. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science at Texas A&M University from 2019 to 2023. Following this, Sam went on to attend Clemson University from 2023 to 2025, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Athletic Leadership. In addition to their academic achievements, Sam acquired certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association in May 2022, and in Advanced First Aid & CPR from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute in April 2022.
