Scott Smoot

Director of Paid Search at ClickFluent Consulting

Scott Smoot has a diverse work experience in the digital marketing industry. Scott started their career at SEO.com in 2007 as an Internet Marketing Intern before transitioning to the role of Search Engine Optimization Manager. During their time at SEO.com, they managed up to 29 clients, developed and implemented link building strategies, and communicated directly with clients to address concerns. Scott also conducted trainings and webinars for clients.

In 2011, Scott joined Alliance Health Networks as the Site Traffic Manager, where they focused on SEO and SEM. Scott worked closely with various departments to fine-tune link building and SEO practices while also taking responsibility for Google Analytics reporting.

From 2012 to 2013, Scott served as the Integrated Marketing Manager at Progrexion, managing SEO campaigns with over 300k visits per month and a paid search budget exceeding $600k. Scott set and implemented strategies across both channels, collaborating with internal departments to ensure successful execution.

Following this, Scott took on the role of Paid Search Manager at Online Image, where they built a PPC program from scratch, specifically focusing on local results. Scott developed software to handle small clients and built a team to support these accounts, resulting in profitability and continued growth for the department.

In 2013, Scott also worked as an Online Marketing Consultant at Smoot Online Consulting, providing PPC and SEO expertise to businesses of various sizes. Scott collaborated with other professionals and companies in Utah to ensure comprehensive marketing solutions for clients.

Scott then joined Overstock.com as a Paid Search Manager in 2014. Scott was responsible for managing all paid search campaigns, including thousands of ad groups and tens of thousands of active keywords with a monthly spend exceeding $1.3 million.

From 2016 to 2019, Scott worked at 3Q Digital as an Account Lead. In this role, they managed client relationships, including communication, project management, strategy, and team management. Scott primarily focused on paid search campaigns but also oversaw social and mobile campaigns.

In 2020, Scott became a Senior Account Manager at QuanticMind, where they worked until 2021. Scott managed client accounts and successfully executed paid search campaigns.

In 2021, Scott transitioned to Basis Technologies as a Paid Search Manager. Scott continued to work on paid search, focusing on larger national and international accounts following the acquisition of QuanticMind by Centro.

Currently, in 2022, Scott holds the position of Director of Paid Search at ClickFluent Consulting.

Scott Smoot graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. In June 2013, they obtained certification as a Google Adwords Certified professional from Google.
