The Climate Bonds Initiative is a not-for-profit, international organization that works to mobilize the $100 trillion bond market for climate change solutions. The organization was founded in London in 2005 by a group of individuals with experience in the sustainable investment, finance, and business sectors. Since its inception, the Climate Bonds Initiative has grown to become a leading voice in the global transition to a low-carbon economy. The organization works with governments, businesses, and investors to develop and implement strategies for mobilizing the bond market to finance climate change solutions. The Climate Bonds Initiative is governed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of representatives from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society. The Board provides strategic oversight and direction for the organization. The Climate Bonds Initiative has a team of over 60 professionals with expertise in sustainable investment, finance, climate change, and economics. The team is based in London, New York, Beijing, and Washington DC.
