Dominic Byrne

Dominic Byrne has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical science and information systems. Dominic started their career as a Senior Technician at University College London, where they conducted research on coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Dominic then worked as an Experienced Biomedical Scientist at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for over a decade, performing analysis of blood, urine, and CSF using various analytical equipment and software systems.

After that, Dominic worked as a Senior Medical Scientist at Galway Clinic, where they oversaw the day-to-day operations of the laboratory and led a team. Dominic was responsible for assigning tasks, ordering supplies, and ensuring efficient lab processes.

Their next role was as a Locum Biomedical Scientist at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, where they continued to perform analysis using different types of analyzers and LIMS systems.

Dominic then joined Sunquest Information Systems as a Professional Services Consultant, leading the implementation and professional services process for intermediate to advanced projects.

Dominic later worked at DJB Biomedical Ltd as an Experienced Locum Biomedical Scientist, where they worked in a number of NHS Biochemistry/Blood Sciences laboratories.

Currently, Dominic is working at Clinisys as a Senior Product Specialist, responsible for expanding the functionality of pre-existing ICE software and managing after-sales projects. Dominic also previously held the role of Project Manager within the ICE Project Management team at Clinisys.

Throughout their career, Dominic has gained valuable experience in managing teams, project resource planning, and ensuring timely delivery of projects. Dominic has also demonstrated their technical expertise and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Dominic Byrne's education history includes completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry at the University of East London from 1990 to 1993. Dominic then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Biochemistry from the University of London from 1994 to 1998.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Dominic Byrne has also obtained several certifications. In 2007, they became an IBMS Fellow through the Institute of Biomedical Science. In 2013, they acquired the certification of Medical Scientist from the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science Ireland. Subsequently, in 2019, they became a certified Biomedical Scientist through The Health and Care Professions Council. Most recently, in May 2022, they completed PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training offered by AXELOS Global Best Practice.
