Richard Craven

Richard Craven is currently the SVP, Managing Director, United Kingdom at CliniSys. Prior to this, they were with HybridStat Predictive Analytics from January 2019 to December 2020 where they served as an Advisor.

HybridStat is an innovator in biostatistics, bioinformatics and analytics of high-throughput biological data derived from technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing, DNA/miRNA/protein microarrays and mass spectrometry. Currently, they offer consulting and analytics services as well as custom database and software design to life scientists. In addition, they have developed Geniasis, their cloud-based, next generation bioinformatics medical decision support system. Geniasis offers simplified, affordable and high-quality analysis of high-throughput genomics data with focus on the clinical interpretation of the results.

Their vision is to become a global leader in cloud-based bioinformatics tools for high-throughput genomics data analytics. Their motto is “bioinformatics made simple” and they aim their Geniasis solution to offer life-scientists and clinicians a self-service analytics platform that will simplify, accelerate and optimize the process of analyzing and comprehending clinical genomics data.

Richard Craven has been instrumental in helping them achieve this goal. Richard has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry, including experience in the commercialization of genomic technologies and bioinformatics software solutions. Richard has a proven track record in business development, product management and marketing of complex software solutions to the global life science market. Prior to joining HybridStat, Richard held various senior management positions at Illumina, Inc., Oxford Gene Technology and Accelrys (now Biovia). Richard has a BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Leicester and an MBA from INSEAD.

Richard Craven's educational career includes a PhD in Digital Platforms, AI/ML, and Big Data from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, and a Business Administration and Management degree from Alliance Manchester Business School. Richard is also a perioperative/operating room and surgical nurse/nursing, with a medical physics specialty from The University of Sheffield.

They are on a team with Michael Robinson - SVP, Customer Experience, Jacques Le Roux - VP & Chief Information Officer, and Heather Alderson - VP, Human Resources. Richard Craven reports to Michael Simpson, CEO.
