Samantha Lewis

Samantha Lewis has extensive experience in the field of biomedical science and blood transfusion. Samantha is currently working as a Blood Transfusion Product Specialist at CliniSys since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Blood Transfusion Lab Manager and Senior Biomedical Scientist at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust from June 2020 to September 2021.

From 2014 to 2020, Samantha held the position of Blood Transfusion Manager and Senior Biomedical Scientist at Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital. In this role, they managed the provision of transfusion services, including stock management, training of staff, and quality assurance.

Before joining Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital, Samantha worked at Bristol Royal Infirmary from 2008 to 2014 as a Biomedical Scientist. Samantha'sresponsibilities included performing routine and specialist tests in haematology, coagulation, blood transfusion, and flow cytometry.

Prior to their role at Bristol Royal Infirmary, Samantha worked at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2006 to 2008 as a Biomedical Scientist. During this time, they gained experience in haematology, blood transfusion, and pathology reception.

Samantha's career in biomedical science started at Warwick Hospital, where they worked as a Trainee Biomedical Scientist from 2005 to 2006. Samantha gained experience in haematology and specimen reception during this period.

Furthermore, Samantha worked at the National Blood Service from 2000 to 2003 as a Training Development Officer and Supervising Assistant Technical Officer. Samantha was involved in the production of fractionated blood products and trained new staff in processing techniques.

Before entering the field of biomedical science, Samantha briefly worked as a Trade Effluent Officer at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water in 1997, where they conducted effluent sampling and ensured compliance with environmental guidelines.

Samantha Lewis obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of the West of England, completing their education from 2002 to 2005. Samantha then pursued a Master's Degree in Biomedical Science Haematology & Transfusion from Nottingham Trent University, graduating in the years 2010 to 2013.

In terms of certifications, Samantha obtained a Specialist Certificate in Transfusion Science Practice from the British Blood Transfusion Society in June 2017. Samantha also holds the IBMS Practitioner in Biomedical Science certification from the Institute of Biomedical Science, obtained in March 2007.

Additionally, Samantha obtained several certifications from CompTIA, including the CompTIA A+ ce Certification in July 2019, the CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS Stackable Certification in November 2019, the CompTIA Network+ ce Certification in November 2019, the CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist – CSIS Stackable Certification in December 2019, and the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification in December 2019.
