Beatrice Chew has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Beatrice started their career as a Research Assistant at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2015. After that, they worked as a Contributing Writer at The Octant - Yale-NUS College Student Publication from September 2017 to May 2018. Subsequently, they interned as an Associate Intern at ACCESS Health International from June 2020 to August 2020. Beatrice then joined Yale-NUS College as a Research Assistant from August 2018 to June 2021. Beatrice also worked as an Analytical Chemist (Junior) at CLINUVEL PHARMACEUTICALS LTD from October 2021 to October 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Scientific Affairs Associate (Junior) at CLINUVEL PHARMACEUTICALS LTD since August 2022.
Beatrice Chew completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Physical Sciences with a specialization in Chemistry at Yale-NUS College from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, they attended the Physics of Life Summer School at Princeton University. Additionally, in 2021, they took a short course in Public Health at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Beatrice also obtained various certifications to complement their education. In 2018 and 2019, they obtained certifications in safe needle usage, biosafety for BSL-2 laboratories, and safe use and handling of pyrophoric chemicals from the National University of Singapore. In 2018, they also achieved an intermediate level B1.2 certification in Spanish from Giralda Center. In 2020, they obtained a certification in laser safety, and in 2021, they completed a course on the data science of healthcare, medicine, and public health from LinkedIn. Beatrice also obtained a certification on chemical safety in 2018 from the National University of Singapore.
Furthermore, in 2021, they completed a course titled "COVID-19: Biomedical Insights into an Evolving Epidemic (One Year Later)" from the National University of Singapore.
