Verena Goodman

Verena Goodman has held a variety of professional roles since 2007. Verena began their career as a Lab Assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in 2007, followed by a Lab Assistant role at the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung in 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Research Programmer for the Leibniz-Institut für Pflanzenbiochemie, where they wrote an algorithm to analyze mass spectrometry data in the statistical programming language R. In 2011, they held two roles simultaneously, Software Engineer at JDA Software and Technical Analyst at Corvisa Services. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Architect at App Data Room LLC and then as a Team Lead and Software Engineer at Comverge. In 2017, they were Chief Technology Officer and Full Stack Developer at Connected Financial Solutions LLC, and from 2018 to 2022, they held various roles at Proofpoint, including Director of Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering Manager, and Software Engineering Manager. Currently, they are VP of Engineering at Perennial.

Verena Goodman completed their Vordiplom (Bachelor) in Biochemistry at The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg between 2004 and 2006. Verena then moved to Leipzig University and obtained their Diplom (Master's degree) in Biochemistry between 2006 and 2009. Verena returned to The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Bioinformatics from 2009 to 2011.
