Sharon Russell

Sharon Russell has over 20 years of work experience in the IT, Security, Compliance and Privacy field. Sharon began their career in 2000 as a Project Manager at Knowledge Alliance. Sharon then moved to Equifax in 2001, where they also worked as a Project Manager. In 2005, they joined Solution Q as an Implementation Consultant. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at Doxim Inc. in various roles, including Corporate Privacy & Compliance Officer, Service Bureau Portfolio Manager, Enterprise Risk Manager, and Manager, Solution Delivery and Project Management, Privacy Officer. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at PwC as a Manager, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Risk Assurance Services, where they developed and implemented a new service offering (Privacy as a Service). In 2020, they joined Doxim as a Director, Compliance & Privacy, where they were responsible for the development and implementation of a risk based enterprise compliance framework. Finally, in 2021, they joined Cloud DX as the Head of IT, Security, Compliance and Privacy.

Sharon Russell received a BA General Arts in Asian Sharon'story from York University between 1989 and 2002. In 2011, they obtained a CIPT certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In 2019, they obtained a CIPM certification from IAPP. In 2020, they obtained a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer certification from ISACA.
