Job purpose | |||
This position is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) for maternity cover, to support the Enterprise Risk Management team with the implementation and operationalizing of the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management is a key member of the Risk Management team and is responsible to carry out programs designed by the CLS for the purpose of implementing an effective risk-based system to identify, measure, monitor, and control operational and enterprise-wide risks. The primary role of the individual is focused on the following: 1. Assist the Director, ERM in driving the culture of engagement, teamwork, and accountability. 2. Support the build-out of the broader Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM) function. 3. Challenge quality and completeness of KRI suite and work with 1st Line owners and Operational Risk Management (ORM) to improve KRIs for measuring adherence to Risk Appetite. 4. Assist in producing the ERM reporting to senior management. Lead and/or present at senior management committees and meetings 5. Assist in development and improvement of scenarios stress testing and facilitation of scenario workshops with the relevant key stakeholders. 6. Support refinements of the ERM frameworks and reporting requirements. 7. Work in close co-ordination with members of the broader ERM team to support and lead initiatives that provide for an effective and a forward-looking Risk Management Framework. 8. Lead the process automation initiatives to improve ERM process efficiency. Lead the administration of the Archer GRC platform |
Essential Function / major duties and responsibilities of the job |
Strategic · Assist in monitoring Framework adherence and develop tools/communicate requirements to key stakeholders to ensure adherence with ERM risk policies, procedures, and best practices · Update relevant policies and procedures and other requirements to respond and adhere to new and existing regulatory guidelines and initiatives · Identify opportunities for process improvements to deliver increasing operational efficiencies |
Operational · Facilitates and participates in enterprise-wide risk assessments and recommendations. · Conducts risk management education and training as appropriate. · Collaborate with business units to minimize operational issues emanating from CLS which could lead to incomplete settlement or market disruption · Lead the administration of the Archer GRC tool including Key Risk Indicator set up, Risk & Control Self-Assessments and Risk Taxonomy |
Leadership · Assist projects in co-ordination with ORM team to enhance the ERM frameworks and assist with implementation of best practices. · Drive the value proposition of the ERM program across the company and with senior leadership engagement in London. · Ability to partner, influence and gain credibility with stakeholders, team members and peers |
Experience / essential and desired for successful job performance |
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 5-10 years of experience in a financial institution with strong Enterprise Risk background. · Strong understanding and implementation of internal control design and control effectiveness across the risk domains and Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks · Ability to operate in an independent manner without close supervision is essential as assessments must be sound and must contain a thorough command of the risk regime of the company. · Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Ability to work across business units and departments · Ability to work constructively and flexibly in a small team environment, and to assist at the direction of management in tasks that are not the immediate responsibility of the department. · Ability to produce high quality risk reports to Risk Committee and the Board. · Have professional presentation skills, including excellent writing and public speaking capabilities; proficiency in standard PC programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). · Archer GRC knowledge and experience advantageous |
