Raj Sohal has extensive work experience in data protection and privacy compliance. From 2020 to the present, they served as the Global Head of Data Protection and Records Management (DPO) at CLS Group, where they were responsible for overseeing compliance risk and conducting reviews across all group entities. They also designed and managed a monitoring program for data protection compliance within the financial services sector.

Prior to this, from 2019 to 2020, Raj Sohal worked as the Head of Data Protection (DPO) at Catalyst Housing Limited. In this role, they were responsible for data protection matters within the organization.

From 2016 to 2019, Raj Sohal served as a Senior Risk and Data Protection Manager (DPO) at Clarion Housing Group. They played a key role in managing risks and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Before joining Clarion Housing Group, from 2015 to 2016, they held the position of Compliance and Information Manager at the Care Quality Commission (Healthwatch England).

Raj Sohal's career in data protection and privacy started in 2010 at the NHS, where they worked as a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician (Policy) until 2015.

Throughout their career, Raj Sohal has gained extensive knowledge and experience in data protection, privacy standards, and regulatory compliance within various sectors.

Raj Sohal has a background in both pharmacology and data protection. Raj completed a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology and Physiology from The Manchester Metropolitan University, graduating with a 2.1 classification in the year 2010. In terms of certifications, Raj Sohal is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), both obtained from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Additionally, Raj Sohal holds the title of Registered Data Protection Practitioner (PC.dp.) from PDP. Furthermore, Raj Sohal has completed training for PRINCE2® Practitioner Certification from the ILX Group.
