Xia Hua

Xia Hua has over 10 years of work experience in the tech industry. Xia began their career in 2010 at Oracle as a Consulting Member of Technical Staff, where they were a primary contributor to the Oracle 12c In-Memory database technology. In 2019, they joined Clumio as a Senior Engineering Manager, where they managed a cross-geo team that delivered Clumio's flagship products such as Clumio Protect for S3 and Clumio Discover. Xia also oversaw infrastructure scaling efforts that made Clumio the industry's most scalable and extensible public cloud data protection platform. Xia was later promoted to Director of Engineering. In their current role, they work as a hands-on manager who oversees project development, drives architectural decisions and helps their team grow.

Xia Hua began their educational journey in 2002 at Tsinghua University, where they studied Computer Science. Xia then moved to The University of Hong Kong, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in 2006. In the same year, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed the degree in 2010.
