Joseph Little

Support Engineer, Systems Administrator at CMIT Solutions

Joseph Little has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Joseph currently serves as the Associate Dean of Technology at Central Piedmont Community College since September 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at the same institution, including Program Chair for Network and Cloud Based Technologies from May 2014 to September 2021, Program Chair for Network Infrastructure from May 2012 to May 2014, and Instructor in Information Technology from August 2011 to May 2012.

Joseph also has experience outside of academia. Joseph worked as a Support Engineer and Systems Administrator at CMIT Solutions starting in February 2015. Earlier, they served as a Network Consultant at Captivate Network from April 2014 to February 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Network Engineer at The Wall Street Journal Office Network from January 2007 to April 2014.

In addition to their professional work, Joseph started their career as a Part-Time Instructor in Information Technology at Central Piedmont Community College from January 2006 to December 2009. Joseph also served as a Communications Supervisor in the US Army from September 1999 to September 2003.

Joseph Little completed their education in several institutions, starting with Central Piedmont Community College from 2004 to 2006. During this time, they obtained an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Network Administration and Support. Following this, Joseph attended East Carolina University from 2006 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Information and Computer Technology.

In terms of additional certifications, Joseph obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco in April 2006. Joseph also achieved the Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) certification from Cisco in December 2011. More recently, in July 2014, Joseph obtained the VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCA-DCV) certification from VMware. Lastly, in November 2019, they achieved the VMware Certified Professional 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization certification, also from VMware.
