Amanda M. is a Principal Research Scientist at CNA Corporation with extensive experience in research and analysis, particularly within the US Navy meteorological and oceanographic community. Since April 2016, Amanda has led projects focused on innovative business models for weather sensing and national security implications, while previously serving in roles that contributed to operational planning and risk management. Before joining CNA, Amanda developed a novel neutron-scattering technique as a Materials Research Engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Amanda's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University and a B.S. in Physics with a Spanish minor from the University of Virginia. Notably, discoveries made during the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship at Penn State have significantly impacted both the physics and engineering communities.
