Cleon Jones Jr. has held various roles in the education and sports industry since 1998. Cleon began their career as a Certified Teacher of Special Education for the Mobile County Public School System, DeKalb County Public Schools, and Fulton County Schools. In 2008, they became an Assistant Football Coach for CF Vigor High School. In 2011, they were an Education Support for the DeKalb County School District. In 2017, they were a Certified Special Education & Common Core Subjects Instructor for grades K-12 at Ivy Prep Academy. In 2018, they were an Education Support for Gwinnett County Public Schools. In 2019, they became an Educator and Educator-Youth Programs for The Last Out Foundation. In 2022, they will become a Baseball Coach and Head Football Coach at Pace Academy, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach for Winter Workouts at Morehouse College, a Speed & Agility Coach, Baseball Performance Coach, Football Performance Coach, and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist at CoachUp. Additionally, in 2014, Cleon Jones Jr. was inducted into The City of Mobile, Alabama & Vigor High School Sports Hall of Fame as a Member.

Cleon Jones Jr. obtained their diploma from Vigor High School in 1990. Cleon then attended the University of South Carolina from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies. From 2008 to 2009, they obtained a Professional Educator's License in Special Education K-12 & Social Sciences K-8 from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. From 2009 to 2011, they earned a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Cambridge College. Lastly, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Media Arts & Communications from the University of South Carolina in 2011. Additionally, Cleon Jones Jr. has obtained certifications from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), American Red Cross, American Sports & Fitness Association (ASFA), and the Georgia Professionals Educators Certification in Special Education.
