Elaine Apel, RD, SCMP has an extensive work experience in procurement and supply chain management. Elaine has held various roles in different companies, starting in 1995. Elaine started their career as a Corporate Dietitian at ARAMARK Canada Ltd. and later became their National Purchasing Manager. After that, they worked as a Purchasing Manager at Dairy Queen before joining Panago Pizza as a Manager of Purchasing & Distribution. Elaine then served as the Regional Director of Strategic Supply Chain Management at Avendra LLC for six years. Next, they worked at Gecko Supply Chain Management Canada as the Managing Director. Elaine also held the position of Manager, Support Services & Food Operations at Fraser Health. Additionally, they worked as the National Purchasing Manager & Embargo Compliance Officer for LSG Sky Chefs. Elaine then joined Northland Properties as a Senior Buyer in Procurement for Sandman, Sandman Signature & Sutton Place Hotels. Prior to their current role, they served as a Senior Buyer and Facilities Coordinator at Township of Langley. Currently, they are the Director of Corporate Purchasing at Coast Hotels.

Elaine Apel, RD, SCMP has an extensive education history. In 1990, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Institutional Foodservice Management from the University of Guelph. In 1995, they earned their RD (Registered Dietitian) degree in Administrative Dietetics from the College of Dietitians of Ontario. Elaine continued to expand their knowledge in the field, completing a Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program at Simon Fraser University in 2007. In 2012, they pursued further education and obtained an RD degree in Administrative Dietetics from the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Additionally, Elaine Apel achieved a Certificate in Foundations Sales Training & Professional Development Program from Trainwest Management Consulting Inc. in 2012.

Elaine Apel's commitment to professional development is evident from their additional certifications. Elaine obtained the SCMP (formerly CPP) designation, which stands for Supply Chain Management Professional, from Supply Chain Canada in 2004. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate in the Global Standard for Professional Competence in Purchasing and Supply from the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM). Furthermore, they completed a Project Management course in 2011 with the American Management Association.

Notably, Elaine Apel has acquired several certifications related to food safety and sanitation. Elaine obtained Food Safe Level 1 and Food Safe Level 2 certifications from the Fraser Health Authority in 2013. Moreover, they completed the National Sanitation Training Program offered by the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association and the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Course by ServSafe.

In regards to their involvement in Scouts Canada, Elaine Apel holds the certifications of Contact Scouter and Group Administrator, received in 2022 and 2021 respectively.
