Richard Nyman

Richard Nyman has extensive work experience in software engineering and management consulting. Richard currently holds the position of Director of Software Engineering at The Cobalt Company, where they began in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Guidehouse from 2019 to 2022, serving as a Management Consultant in the Office of the Global Aids Coordinator, Department of State. At Guidehouse, they managed software development and operations for the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

Before joining The Cobalt Company, Richard worked at Booz Allen Hamilton from 2010 to 2019, where they were promoted to the Strategic Innovation Group in 2013. In this role, they led product design and development in the Internet of Things practice, with a budget oversight of $6M.

From 2008 to 2010, Richard was a Senior Microsoft .NET Software Developer at the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). During this time, they led digital transformation efforts and launched the MyNCARB product. Richard also served as a Scrum Master and Solution Architect and implemented Agile processes and project management.

Prior to their role at NCARB, Richard worked at Excella as a Microsoft .NET Software Developer from 2006 to 2008. Richard developed products and solutions for the Real Estate division of the Carlyle Group, generating significant cost savings.

Richard's career began at CEB (now Gartner) in 2004 as a Microsoft .NET Software Developer. Richard collected survey data from Fortune 500 member organizations and compiled findings into quantitative analyst reports.

Richard Nyman holds a Master of Computer and Information Technology degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Richard obtained this degree at an undisclosed time. Prior to that, Richard completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at the University of Michigan, although the specific dates of their enrollment and graduation are unknown. In addition to their academic achievements, Richard has earned several certifications. Richard obtained the SAFe Agilist Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in June 2019. In November 2016, they completed the "Entrepreneurship 1: Developing the Opportunity" course and the "Pricing Strategy" course, receiving certificates from Coursera Course Certificates. Richard also holds the Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in September 2010. Richard further enhanced their expertise in project management by earning the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in February 2019. Most recently, in May 2020, Richard Nyman achieved the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
