Colleen Burns is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public policy and social services. Currently serving as Senior Director of Safety Net Programs at Code for America, Colleen leads initiatives to enhance the delivery of safety net benefits at both state and federal levels. Previous roles include significant positions at the Illinois Department of Human Services, where Colleen supported operations to provide equitable access to human services. As State Engagement & Innovation Lead at Greater Chicago Food Depository, Colleen advanced efforts to combat hunger in Illinois. Colleen's expertise in health policy was further developed in various capacities at the Office of the Governor of Illinois, where key contributions included the establishment of the Office of Health Innovation and Transformation and the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace.
