Zachary Antoyan is a Program Specialist at Code for America. Zachary has previous experience working as a Field Representative for the California State Assembly and as a Research Fellow for the Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy. As a Field Representative, Zachary conducted outreach to community stakeholders about legislative and bureaucratic needs. Zachary also fielded constituent communications through phone, email, in person, and the legislative constituent management system. Additionally, they assisted constituents, businesses, and organizations through State bureaucracy hurdles. Zachary also planned and coordinated Community Resource Fairs, bringing over 50 local agencies to rural and urban Fresno communities. As a Research Fellow for the Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy, Zachary focused on developing and implementing civic-tech tools and solutions for the betterment of society. Most of their time was spent on Digital Democracy, a project that makes state legislative hearings more open and accessible by transcribing the entire hearings, identifying speakers, and creating a completely searchable database. Duties included editing transcripts of California State legislative hearings for accuracy and grammar, positively identifying speakers, their associations, and their positions on legislation, managing small teams tasked with database error management, and managing social media accounts (E.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

Zachary Antoyan began their educational career at Thomas A. Edison High School. Zachary then went on to study Political Science and Philosophy at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
