Sandra Hoffberg

Sandra Hoffberg has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomic data analysis. Sandra currently works as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Code Ocean, where they create containerized software and builds pipelines to manipulate genomic data. Before that, they worked at Columbia University as a RADcamp Workshop Leader, training scientists on genomic data collection and analysis. Sandra also served as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow, collaborating on the development of new software and improving existing bioinformatic pipelines.

Prior to their time at Columbia University, Sandra was involved in various roles at The University of Georgia, including Teaching Assistant, Graduate Research Fellow, and Science Writing Consultant. During this time, they developed genomic infrastructure, analyzed population genetics of plants, and provided science writing consultation. Additionally, Sandra worked as a Research Assistant at the U.S. Forest Service.
