Sandy Ahlstrom

Sandy Ahlstrom is currently a Curriculum Developer at CodeHS. Sandy has a long history of working with computers and programming. Sandy started their career as a System Programmer at ARCO Coal Company in 1990. From 1997 to 2002, Sandy worked as an Information Technology Programmer at J.D. Edwards, where they co-designed and wrote the major application in ‘C’ which calculates the complex variations of Payroll Deductions, Benefits, and Accruals. In 2008, Sandy started working as a Teacher at Sheridan County School District #2, where they taught for 14 years before returning to the programming field.

Sandy Ahlstrom has a Master of Education from Jones International University in Elementary Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, a Bachelor of Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Computer Science (Computer Information Systems and Management Science), and a Digital Literacy Endorsement from Black Hills State University. Sandy also has certification from the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board in Elementary Education Endorsement, Computer Science Teachers Endorsement, and Digital Literacy Endorsement.
