Marco Orellana

Marco Orellana is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in information technology and management within the mining sector. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for Eurecat Latam since November 2023, Orellana has been a prominent figure at MIT since May 2011, recognized as the winner of the MIT CIO Award for Innovation Leadership in 2011. With a significant tenure at CODELCO, where Orellana holds the position of CIO Corporative since June 1986, contributions to the industry include coordination at SAP as Chairman of the Mining IBU from September 2011 to August 2013, and board membership at Mining Information Communications and Monitoring MICOMO S.A. from July 2006 to May 2011. Orellana also has a long-standing history as a conference speaker at international summits. Educationally, Orellana earned a degree in Information Processing Engineering from Universidad de Chile and a diploma in Information Management from Universidad de Santiago.
