Geoff Smith

Vp, Development Director at Codemasters

Geoff Smith has over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry. Geoff started their career as a Project Manager at Superscape Ltd, where they delivered PC games and managed the localization of LEGO Creator. Geoff then moved on to LEGO Interactive as a Senior Project Manager, responsible for implementing project management processes and overseeing the development of multiple LEGO titles.

In 2004, Smith joined Lionhead Studios (Microsoft Game Studios) as a Senior Development Manager, handling day-to-day project management and working with studio leads to achieve project goals. Geoff later became the Executive Producer, leading the delivery of AAA game titles and controlling schedules and release strategies.

Smith then joined Creative Assembly in 2016 as a Development Director, where they partnered with the Game Director to manage the development of Total War Arena. Geoff was responsible for project planning, development schedules, and client/publisher relations.

Most recently, Smith joined Codemasters as the VP, Development Director, overseeing development processes.

Geoff Smith holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Communication Studies from the University of Leeds, which they obtained in 1991. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English/Philosophy from the same institution in 1990. Geoff completed their A Levels in English, History, and Economics at Uppingham School between 1985 and 1987. Geoff also has additional certifications in areas such as Product Owner, ScrumMaster, Prince2 Practitioner, and Association for Project Management Professionals.
