Ben Tracy has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Ben started their career at Veracity UK Ltd as a Software Engineer Intern, where they worked on developing embedded, cross-platform NVR software for Windows and Linux-based devices. During this role, they gained experience in developing production code across systems and gained invaluable experience working with a large cross-platform C++ codebase.
After their role as an intern, Ben joined Codeplay Software as a Staff Software Engineer. In this role, they worked on the ComputeCpp runtime, implementing new features, optimizations, and bug fixes. Ben also contributed to open source work on Intel's oneDNN library, enabling NVIDIA hardware support through the cuDNN library and Intel's DPC++ compiler.
Recently, Ben has taken on the role of Senior Software Engineer at Codeplay Software, where they continue their work on the ComputeCpp runtime. Ben Tracy began their education journey in 2006 at James Watt College, where they pursued a HND in Sound Production. Ben then moved on to Glasgow Caledonian University in 2008 and completed a Bsc in Audio Technology with Multimedia in 2009. In 2014, Ben enrolled at West College Scotland and obtained a HND in Computer Games Development in 2016. Most recently, they attended the University of the West of Scotland from 2016 to 2019, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Games Technology.
