Scott Estes has over 25 years of work experience in the biotechnology industry. Scott is currently the Head of Cell Line Development at Asimov, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Codiak BioSciences from 2016 to 2023, where they held various roles including Vice President of EV & Cell Line Engineering, Vice President of Process Sciences, and Senior Director of Upstream Cell Culture Development & External Manufacturing. At Codiak BioSciences, Scott was responsible for building out the Process Sciences organization, creating process technology platforms, establishing external manufacturing supply chain, and developing a next-generation exosome-centric expression system.

Before joining Codiak BioSciences, Scott worked at Biogen from 2011 to 2016 as the Director of Cell Culture Development. Their responsibilities included leading teams in cell line development, analytical capabilities, and technology innovation programs. Scott also contributed to the development of a highly productive "Cell Line Toolbox" using precision genome editing tools.

From 1997 to 2011, Scott worked at Genzyme, starting as a Staff Scientist I and progressing to roles including Associate Director and Director of Cell Line & Cell Culture Process Development Group. Scott was responsible for cell line generation, early process development, CMC support, and contributing to regulatory filings. Notably, they developed an improved cell line development platform that increased productivity and eliminated animal derived components.

Scott's career in the biotechnology industry began at MIT, where they worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow from 1995 to 1997.

Scott Estes obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, which they attended from 1982 to 1986. Later, from 1989 to 1995, they pursued a PhD in Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University at Buffalo.
