Fernando Pombeiro

Fernando Pombeiro has a strong background in data engineering and software development. Fernando started their career at Meteor Games LLC in 2009, where they coordinated key metrics for a video game startup. Fernando developed key performance indicators (KPIs) for multiple games and optimized data collection and warehouse performance.

From 2010 to 2013, Fernando worked at Playsino, where they built a back-end admin page for metrics and utilized various APIs for data aggregation and visualization. Fernando also worked on customer acquisition strategies using the Facebook Ads API.

In 2013, Fernando joined Leaf Group, where they focused on developing big data solutions for migrating from Netezza to a Hadoop framework. Fernando also oversaw data migration for the analytics team.

In 2015, Fernando worked at Capgemini, building a back-end data product using Node.js and Amazon Hadoop EMR for third-party users.

From 2016 to 2017, Fernando worked as a senior instructor at General Assembly, teaching SQL, Tableau, and Excel. Fernando focused on creating dashboards, high-level analysis, and data science.

From 2014 to 2017, Fernando worked at Fandango, building a data product for studios using Python, Pandas, and regression models. Fernando also worked on a version of the product in Node.js.

In 2018, Fernando joined Rush Partners Ltd as a senior data engineer, working on various startup projects using Node.js, Node.js Serverless, and other AWS technologies.

In 2019, Fernando joined XIATECH as a senior software engineer, working on data integration pipelines using Golang and various AWS tools.

Most recently, Fernando has been working as the Chief Technology Officer at Codices, a media/technology startup focused on real-time, live interactive gaming. Fernando has been responsible for the platform's architecture, utilizing AWS, microservices, and other technologies.

Fernando Pombeiro attended Boston University from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Mathematics. Additionally, during the same time period, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree specifically in Mathematics from Boston University.
