Joanna Zabawa-Kalinowska

Joanna Zabawa-Kalinowska has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as the Director of Operations at Coffeedesk since October 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Head of People & Culture at the same company starting from October 2021.

In 2020, Joanna was a member of the Design Leadership Forum and a member of the Visionary team at Una Europa, where they participated in imaging and designing the university of the future.

From 2016 to 2021, Joanna worked at X-Trade Brokers DM SA, initially as the Head of Customer Experience, where they developed an interdisciplinary team and implemented strategies to increase the organization's UX Maturity. During this time, they also served as an Expert User Experience Specialist at Syncron from 2020 to 2021, leading a design team and providing UX expertise. Joanna previously held roles such as Service Owner and User Experience Lead at Syncron, where they grew and developed the design team.

Before that, Joanna worked as a Senior UX Designer at Millennium Bank A.E. in 2016 and as a Service Designer and Service Designer Coordinator at PZU from 2014 to 2016.

Joanna also has experience in community organizing and event management, having worked as a Community Organizer and design methodology mentor at Maker Space Kraków from 2013 to 2015, as well as an Event Organizer at Green Zoo Festival from 2013 to 2015.

Additionally, Joanna served as a Community Manager, designer, and visual facilitator at Ambasada Krakowian in 2014.

Joanna Zabawa-Kalinowska's education history includes a variety of degrees and fields of study. From 2007 to 2012, they attended Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Jana Matejki w Krakowie and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Industrial and Product Design. At the same time, from 2009 to 2011, they studied fashion design at Otwarta Pracownia Projektowania Mody na ASP im. Jana Matejki w Krakowie, earning a BE degree.

In 2010, Joanna also enrolled at Jagiellonian University and pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Cognitive Science, which they completed in 2013. Additionally, during the academic year 2010 to 2011, they attended HOGENT and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in fashion and graphic design.

Lastly, beginning in 2015, they began their doctoral studies at Uniwersytet SWPS, focusing on Psychology. This program culminated in their becoming a Doktorant and completing their studies in 2019.
