Chuck Hope

Principal, Structural Engineering at Coffman Engineers

Chuck is a structural engineering principal for the San Diego office and brings engineering leadership and local knowledge to projects he manages. His general areas of expertise include projects for life science, biotechnology, corporate facilities, and more recently man made urban surf parks.

Chuck was the Founder of Hope-Amundson Structural Engineers which joined Coffman Engineers In 2017. With an 80 year family history in engineering and architecture in San Diego, Chuck has a unique tie to the local business community. Chuck worked for Hope Consulting Group before founding Hope Engineering in 1993. Jim Amundson joined him in 1999 as a partner to form Hope-Amundson Structural Engineers. Chuck now serves as one of four structural principals in Coffman’s San Diego office.
