We are seeking an experienced, well-connected leader with a passion for sales and a commitment to fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence. The SVP, Sales will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and market expansion for Cognitiv. This strategic leader will oversee a team of Regional VPs, guiding them with a combination of excellent organization skills, strategic vision, and proven success in the AdTech industry.   Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, a team building mentality, ingenuity, and innovation to develop commercial and partnership strategies that will win in a highly-competitive market. This is a highly influential role combining strategic planning, business development, internal communications, and cross-functional initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will focus on the development and execution of the programmatic and ad tech strategy at Cognitiv.   This position will be located in New York, NY with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office (Mon/Tue/Wed) and 2 days office-optional (Thursday/Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Sets the overall vision, direction, and strategy for the sales organization to drive beyond expected revenue targets and achieve necessary business growth
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Sales Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) to meet and exceed sales targets and individual goals and metrics across regions
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports and insights to the senior leadership team
  • Leverage relationships with agencies, buyers and DSPs to bring in and increase spend
  • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for developing department level OKRs and partnering with other senior leaders to ensure OKR alignment across the organization
  • Hires, trains, retains and coaches high performing, culturally aligned, teams; provides constructive and timely feedback and reviews; establishes goals and metrics to drive accountability and results; handles corrective action as needed
  • Represent Cognitiv at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and reputation
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and excellence within the sales team
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to enhance Cognitiv's market position and drive business expansion
  • Continuously assess market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and refine sales approaches
  • Keep the pulse on the changing industry and feed that knowledge to internal stakeholders to bolster opportunities that will grow the business through product innovation and identified customer needs
  • Develop high-performance processes and ensure the team is partnering effectively with the Client Success team to help enhance client onboarding, insights and fostering long lasting relationships
  • Partner closely with Science, Marketing, Engineering and Product to provide ongoing support and create growth strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA credentials are advantageous.
  • 12+ years of experience in the programmatic/performance advertising space
  • 4+ years of proven success in a senior leadership role
  • Deep experience in programmatic, particularly interacting with buyers
  • A proven history of achievements in leadership roles within the digital advertising industry
  • A substantial network and established relationships within the agency landscape
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the capacity to sway pivotal stakeholders
  • Communication and adept ability to cooperate efficiently with people from different backgrounds and seniority levels (from operational to C-level)
  • Experience at speaking at external events and conferences
  • Proficient in leadership, with prior experience in cultivating and nurturing high-performing sales teams
  • An analytical approach with the ability to decipher data and insights to steer decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and respect

Salary

  • $275,000-$325,000 Base Salary + Bonus and Equity
