Iyanka Ponnamperuma , PMP, CSM

Iyanka Ponnamperuma, PMP, CSM has worked in the project management field since 2000. From 2000 to 2009, they worked as a Simulation Software Engineer at Immersion Medical. In 2009, they moved to Immersion Corporation as a Lead Project Engineer, where they developed software on Cathlab product line and collaborated with the team as a senior developer and technical lead. From 2010 to 2021, they worked at CAE Healthcare as a Project Manager and Lead Project Engineer, where they led the team in the development of creating the project management plan, directed, managed, monitored and controlled projects, and collaborated with project stakeholders to develop, gather requirements, manage project scope and project schedule. In 2021, they moved to AIS (Applied Information Sciences) as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors, developed and maintained positive relationships with key clients, and coached members of the team to optimize the efficiency of the project team. Currently, they work as a Program Manager at Cognixion.

Iyanka Ponnamperuma, PMP, CSM has a diverse educational background. In 1996, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Mathematics from Washington College. Iyanka then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, which they completed in 2001. In 2012, they obtained a Certification in Project Management from UC Berkeley Extension. In 2021, they obtained a PMI certification from the Project Management Institute and a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance. Additionally, in 2022 they obtained a Microsoft Certified Power Platform Fundamentals and a Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.
