SVP, Treasurer at Cognizant

Charmian Uy is the current SVP, Treasurer at Cognizant. Charmian has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles in finance.

Charmian started their career as an analyst at U.S. Department of the Treasury. Charmian quickly rose through the ranks and became the Chief Investment Officer, leading the US Treasury’s initiative to sunset TARP (Troubled Assets Relief Program). Charmian was successful in balancing the stability of the impacted institutions and the interests of the taxpayer, collecting approximately $16 billion in proceeds.

After their successful tenure at the Treasury, they joined First Data Corporation as SVP, Financial Planning and Analysis. There they established and organized the infrastructure and processes for corporate financial planning, forecasting and analysis.

Most recently, they were at CA Technologies as SVP, Treasurer. There they directed a team of 17 professionals, with 2 direct reports. In a rapidly changing environment, they focused on strategic excellence, collaboration and employee engagement. Charmian also directed Capital Allocation and Execution in the Capital Markets. During the Broadcom acquisition in 2018, they spearheaded due diligence response and negotiated terms of the Purchase Agreement.

Charmian Uy has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University.

They work with Tyler Scott - VP, Head of Investor Relations, Peter Cumello - SVP, Finance - Global Head of FP&A & Enterprise Transformation. Charmian Uy reports to Jan Siegmund, CFO.
