Lauren Waters has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Lauren started their career as a Student Skills Coach at Western University in 2008. Lauren then worked as a Leadership and Outdoor Education Camp Director at the City of Brampton from 2007 to 2011. Lauren went on to work as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at McMaster University from 2011 to 2013.

In 2013, Lauren joined Lura Consulting as a Communications and Social Media Support. Lauren then worked at The Challenge from 2014 to 2016, where they held roles as Schools' Coordinator and Senior Staffing Associate. During this time, they built relationships and promoted the UK National Citizen Service program.

From 2017 to 2018, Lauren worked as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Info-Tech Research Group, where they managed large recruitment portfolios and implemented effective strategies.

Lauren's most recent role was at Xero, where they held several positions. Lauren started as a Recruiter for Hubdoc, a Xero product, in 2018. Lauren then became a Talent Acquisition Specialist, responsible for building and growing teams across various departments and locations. In 2021, they were promoted to Talent Experience Manager - Americas, leading a team and focusing on building inclusive teams of values-aligned professionals. Currently, they are working as an HR and Recruitment Lead at Cohere since 2023.

Lauren Waters has a diverse education history. Lauren began their academic journey at Western University from 2007 to 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with an Honours Specialization in Media, Information and Technoculture. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued higher education at McMaster University, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Communication and New Media from 2011 to 2012. More recently, Lauren enhanced their knowledge and skills by completing a Certificate in Human Resources Management at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University, spanning from 2017 to 2021.
