Matt Simpson

Matt Simpson has a long and varied work history. Matt began their career in 1994 as a Development Engineer at Televox International Ltd. In 1998 they moved to Paradox Security Systems NZ as a Design Engineer. In 2000 they joined Navman New Zealand as an Embedded Software Engineer. In 2004 they moved to Navman Wireless as a Hardware & Firmware Development Manager, and in 2012 they were promoted to Director of Engineering at CalAmp Corp. In 2013 they became Head of Engineering at Invenco Group Limited, and in 2015 they joined EROAD as a Hardware Product Manager. In the same year they also began working at Teletrac Navman, where they held the roles of Senior Hardware Engineering Manager, Programme Manager, and Director of Hardware Engineering. In 2018 they became President of the Product Development and Management Association of New Zealand (PDMA-NZ). In 2022 they will take on the role of Vice President of Product Engineering at Quantifi Photonics.

Matt Simpson obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from Auckland University of Technology in 2013, specializing in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Prior to this, they completed a NZIM Diploma in Management (Advanced) from NZIM in 2007, as part of the NZIM Managerial Excellence Programme. Matt also holds a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering from Auckland University of Technology, in the field of Electronics and Computer Technology.
