Alex Mead

Alex Mead has a diverse work experience across various industries. In 2022, they worked as a Technical Research Analyst at Coin Metrics, where they conducted research on Bitcoin, Crypto, and Decentralized Finance. They wrote internal and external reports, contributed to product R&D, and explored various technical aspects of blockchain technology.

Prior to that, they founded Bear Creek Systems in 2021 and served as the CEO.

From 2018 to 2021, Alex worked as a Full Stack IoT Engineer at Safehub Inc., where they specialized in developing IoT systems.

They also have experience in the academic field, having worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017, and as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley from 2012 to 2017.

During their academic career, Alex worked on various research projects related to earthquake engineering, building performance simulation, and behavior change experiments. They also contributed to the SinBerBEST research project at the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University.

Additionally, Alex gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan College of Engineering in 2010 and served as an Operations Coordinator at Appalachia Service Project in the same year.

In 2009, they worked as an Assistant Project Engineer at The Christman Company, where they were involved in hospital expansion and assisted living facility greenfield projects.

Alex Mead pursued their education in Civil Engineering and Civil Systems Engineering. Alex obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering between 2007 and 2011. Later, they pursued higher studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a Master's Degree in Civil Systems Engineering in 2012. Alex further continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Systems Engineering in 2017.
