Marcel Kasumovich

Marcel Kasumovich has a strong work background in finance and investment management. Marcel is currently serving as the Deputy CIO at Coinbase Asset Management, a position they started in March 2023. Prior to this, Marcel founded Pure Macro Advisors Inc. in April 2012 and was actively involved in the company. Marcel also worked as a Partner at Semanteon Capital from December 2020. Marcel has experience as the Deputy CIO at One River Asset Management from January 2021 to March 2023. Marcel served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Predata from January 2018 to June 2022. Prior to founding Pure Macro Advisors, Marcel worked as a Strategist at Tse Capital Management LP from June 2013 to December 2020. Marcel was a Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund from July 2012 to June 2013. Marcel gained extensive experience as an Associate Founding Partner at Woodbine Capital Advisors, a global macro off-shoot of Soros Fund Management, from June 2008 to March 2012. Before that, they worked as the Chief Strategist at Soros Fund Management from May 2004 to May 2008. Marcel started their career as the Head FX Strategist at Merrill Lynch in September 2002, ending in May 2004.

Marcel Kasumovich obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University in 1993. Marcel later pursued a Masters of Arts at the University of Toronto from 1993 to 1994.
