Makar Stetsenko

Makar Stetsenko has a strong background in engineering management and software development. Makar is currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Coinhako since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Prisma from 2022 to 2023, where they played a crucial role in building the core cloud infrastructure and commercial offering. Makar led a distributed team, doubling its size while ensuring high availability and delivering new features.

Before Prisma, Makar held the position of Head of Engineering at Silicon Valley Insight from 2019 to 2022. In this role, they led cross-functional teams and was responsible for staffing decisions, hiring, and growing the engineering organization. Makar also collaborated with business development teams to manage client engagements.

At Silicon Valley Insight, Makar initially served as a Senior Software Engineer from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they worked closely with clients as a lead developer, contributing to multiple projects. Makar collaborated with product managers and designers to refine requirements and communicate them to the engineering team. Notable achievements include building backend applications in Node.

Makar's career began as a Software Engineer at Silicon Valley Insight in 2015, where they developed mobile applications in Objective-C, Swift, and TypeScript. Makar worked on various projects, including building iOS and iPad catalogs with offline browsing capabilities, developing a HIPAA-compliant mobile app for Stanford's gut bacteria research group, and creating a social network app for a prominent media brand in the US. The social network app featured custom-made transitions and a 2D grid for photo and media uploads.

Makar Stetsenko completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Higher School of Economics from 2013 to 2017. Before that, in 2012, they attended Stanford University for a short period but did not pursue a degree in Computer Science. Additionally, Makar has obtained certifications including the ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile Team Facilitation from ICAgile in July 2022 and the Inspiring and Motivating Individuals certification from Coursera Course Certificates in December 2016.
