Pranav Ramarao has had a varied and successful career. Pranav began their professional experience in 2014 as a Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft. Pranav then went on to become a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research India in 2015, where they worked on a new light-weight e-mail client and Debug Advisor, a recommendation system to help fix bugs quicker. In the same year, they were also a Developer for Google Summer of Code '15. In 2016, they became a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, where they received an Outstanding TA Award. In 2017, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Google, and in 2018 they became a Software Engineer II and then a Senior Software Engineer. In 2022, they joined CoinTracker as a Software Engineer. Additionally, they were a Co-Founder of Admits.fyi in 2015, where they created the largest MS in US database with 400K+ admits and rejects that users can filter through and shortlist universities, as well as an algorithmic profile evaluation product.

Pranav Ramarao obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani between 2011 and 2015.
