Prateek Lal

Prateek Lal (Prat) is general counsel and corporate secretary at ColdQuanta, the global quantum ecosystem leader. In this role Prat provides direct legal support for corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, financial agreements, intellectual property, employment, commercial and government contract negotiation, supply chain, procurement, international trade compliance, regulatory matters, real estate, information technology, cybersecurity, and facilities.

Prat brings diverse expertise from a career beginning with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. He served as associate program counsel, trade compliance analyst, and contracts manager between 2008 and 2017, supporting Lockheed’s Advanced Technology Center, Commercial Space, Military Space, and Strategic Missile Defense programs. Subsequently, he was associate general counsel at Luminar Technologies, Inc. supporting corporate governance, commercial matters, customer negotiations, trade compliance, and supply chain while also providing integral legal guidance resulting in the company’s successful SPAC IPO in December 2020. After Luminar, Prat joined Momentus Inc. as deputy general counsel in 2021 as the primary corporate and employment lawyer as well as serving as interim general counsel to help the company manage a CFIUS National Security Agreement and accomplish its successful SPAC IPO in August 2021.

Prat is currently a guest lecturer for Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and has managed its business law internship program for the past 5 years.

A native of San Jose, CA, Prat has had a passion for hard work and honesty instilled by his late father, Brij Bihari Lal. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Berkeley and his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA.
