Matt Deacon

Matt Deacon has a diverse background in language teaching and coaching, with experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Matt began their career in 2016 at GEAD Language Community and Centro La Escuela as an English Language Teacher. In 2016, they also worked at the English UC Language Center as an English Teacher and at Centro Chileno Canadiense as an English Language Teacher. In 2017, they joined WordsOn as a Business English and corporate communications trainer. In 2018, they worked as a Freelance English Language Coach for both Freelance and J&K. Later that year, they became an Internal English Teacher at Colegium. In 2020, they joined Poliglota as an English Coach. Most recently, in 2021, they started working as an English Tutor at Preply.

Matt Deacon attended Bath Spa University, where they obtained a BSc degree in Psychology. Matt also has several additional certifications, including "Prepare Data for Exploration" from Google in March 2023, "Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere" from Coursera | Google in January 2023, and "Análisis de datos con Power B1" from Platzi in December 2022. Other certifications include "Excel Intermedio" from Platzi in December 2022, "Google Analytics" from Platzi in October 2022, and "Google Analytics Certification - Become Analytics Certified!" from Udemy in October 2022. Matt also obtained certifications such as "Tools - Google Analytics" from Simplilearn in October 2022, "Análisis de negocios para ciencia de datos" from Platzi in September 2022, and "Google Tag Manager" from Platzi in September 2022. Matt further earned certifications like "Introduction to Data Analytics" from SkillUp Online in September 2022, "Principios de visualización de datos para Business Intelligence" from Platzi in August 2022, and "Introducción a Business Intelligence con Excel" from Platzi in July 2022. Additionally, they completed a "Curso de Excel Básico" from Platzi in May 2022. Furthermore, Matt has certifications in topics outside of data and analytics, including "Become a Master at Conflict Management at Home or Work" from Udemy in January 2021, "Mind of the Universe - Robots in society: Blessing or curse?" from edX in December 2020, and "Be a Zoom Pro the ultimate course" from Udemy in November 2020. Matt also obtained an "edX Verified Certificate for The Future of Work: Preparing for Disruption" from edX in November 2020. Prior to these certifications, Matt obtained a "Duolingo Portuguese Fluency: Beginner (Estimated)" certification from Duolingo in January 2016 and a "Curso de Programación de Apps Móviles" certification from Universidad Complutense de Madrid / Google in December 2015. Lastly, they also completed a "Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults" from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate in July 2000.
