Malia Haakonsen

Malia Haakonsen is an undergraduate student at Colgate University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History, with expected graduation in 2025. Malia has gained significant experience in the investment banking sector, currently serving as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at UBS since June 2024. Previous roles include a Capital Markets and Investment Services Summer Analyst position at U.S. Bank and participation in programs focused on diversity in alternative investing at Ares Management Corporation and Bank of America. Malia's experience also extends to Colgate University, where Malia serves as an Employer Relations Intern and ITS Student Consultant, alongside an Analyst role in the Colgate Investment Group, concentrating on Media and Telecommunications. Furthermore, Malia co-founded Ethereal Tendencies, a clothing brand aimed at raising awareness regarding fast fashion, the gender-wage gap, and sustainability, serving as Executive/Financial Director from November 2019 to August 2023.
