Stephen Turner has a strong background in bioinformatics and informatics. Stephen currently holds the position of Principal Bioinformatics Engineer at both Colossal Biosciences and Form Bio. Before this, they worked as a Senior Informatics S&T Advisor at Signature Science, LLC from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, they were an Assistant Professor of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia from 2011 to 2019, where they also served as the Bioinformatics Core Director. In 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hawai'i Cancer Center. Before that, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2010 to 2011, and a Ph.D. Candidate Researcher from 2006 to 2010.
Stephen Turner earned their Ph.D. in Human Genetics from Vanderbilt University in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Applied Statistics from Vanderbilt University in 2009. Stephen completed their undergraduate education at James Madison University, receiving a B.S. in Biology in 2006. Stephen also holds certifications, including being a Registered Patent Agent from USPTO and a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
