M. Scott Conley

Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President of Operations at Drylet

M. Scott Conley has over 20 years of experience in operational management, engineering design, and project management. From 2013 to present, they have served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President of Operations for Drylet, LLC, a Series A funded startup focused on leveraging the company's innovative microbial delivery platform for waste management. In this role, they have evaluated and implemented SaaS applications/systems for operational functionality, leveraged key relationships for internal functions and activities to minimize burn rate, prepared all analysis of financials and corporate activities for presentation to the CEO and Board, and developed, communicated, and implemented core corporate policies and processes.

Prior to Drylet, Conley was the Founder, Vice-President & COO, prior Director of Engineering and Board Member of Simbol Materials from 2007 to 2013. During this time, they formulated the I/P strategy that built the foundation of the company's absorption technology and prepared access for successive rounds of capital, developed technical strategy and executed strategy for the design, construction, and operation of Simbol's flagship pilot plant, prepared and executed a plan for modeling lithium competition cost structure, and market awareness of new technologies and other resource advantages, and co-invented the company's lithium adsorbent.

From 2007 to 2008, Conley was a Senior Process Automation Specialist for The Dow Chemical Company. From 1998 to 2007, they were a Senior Project Engineer for Invensys, where they directed project execution from detailed control philosophy design, project scheduling, client interface, and system integration and plant startup. M. Scott also led numerous DCS and SIS automation projects ranging from $150k to $5 MM for majors including Shell Oil, Saudi Aramco, Nabisco, Kraft, Huntsman, LCRA, Air Liquide, Exxon Mobil, and BASF.

M. Scott Conley earned a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1994, followed by an M.B.A. from Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business in 2007.
