Jem Bartholomew is a freelance reporter based in London and New York, with a focus on writing narrative nonfiction about poverty, social exclusion and other topics. They have written two chapters in the upcoming book 'BROKE: Fixing Britain's Poverty Crisis', and have held various reporting and internship positions at reputable publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Financial Times, and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Jem is currently a Tony Horwitz Fellow at Columbia Journalism School, where they are conducting research on media coverage of labor.
