Shane Ortale

Shane Ortale began their career in 2007 as an Intern at Klip Collective, where they organized equipment and files, worked with Adobe Photoshop to create media, and helped facilitate photo/video shoots as a PA. In the same year, they also began working as a Server Assistant at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where they ensured a neat and orderly environment and provided exceptional service in a fast-paced lounge.

In 2009, Ortale became a Server at Parc Restaurant, Bistro and Cafe in Philadelphia, where they served breakfast, lunch and dinner in the city's busiest restaurant, gained teamwork skills in a large-scale dining operation with people from all continents, and acquired extensive food and beverage education.

In 2011, Ortale volunteered as a Farmer at Organic Farms, where they worked on a variety of different farms supporting the production of wine, confiture, goat cheese, and vegetables, learned and implemented farming techniques to reduce waste and maximize productivity, and developed language skills while traveling alone through France.

From 2012 to 2022, Ortale held multiple roles. Shane worked as a Server at Caffe Storico, a Researcher at Malaria No More, and a Server, Bartender, and Special Events at Tiny's and the Bar Upstairs. At Malaria No More, they compiled a database of all malaria related research and development in the United States, planned and participated in the World Malaria Day event on Capitol Hill to highlight American achievements, and edited and re-wrote sections of the Malaria No More website. At Tiny's and the Bar Upstairs, they performed a plethora of tasks to maintain and elevate the quality of service and atmosphere of a TriBeCa favorite, helped establish neighborhood comfort while cultivating an international interest in the restaurant, and assisted in the selecting and merchandising of wine, beer, and cocktails. In 2022, Ortale began working as a Content Marketing Specialist at COMBASE USA.

Shane Ortale attended the University of Miami from 2004 to 2006, studying Film/Cinema/Video Studies and Religious Studies. Shane then went on to Temple University, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History and Religious Studies in 2009. Finally, Shane Ortale completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from The Graduate Center, City University of New York in 2019.
