Abelardo Castro

Abelardo Castro is an experienced professional in maintenance management and energy optimization with a strong background in the food industry. Currently serving as Jefe de mantenimiento de Servicios at Comestibles Aldor since April 2022, Abelardo supervises preventive and corrective maintenance activities for water treatment plants and related equipment. Previously, at Ingredion Incorporated, roles included Jefe de Ahorro de Energía & Utilities, focusing on the management and optimization of utilities for the Cali plant, as well as leading energy management systems. Abelardo also coordinated a $20 million cogeneration project. Prior experience at Industrias del Maiz - Corn Products involved roles as Ingeniero de Ahorro de Energía and Ingeniero de Gestión Ambiental, where responsibilities included implementing energy-saving initiatives and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Abelardo holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Valle and a specialization in Environmental Management from Universidad ICESI.
