Director Of Education at Commemorative Air Force

Brenda Townsend has a diverse work history in the education sector. Brenda currently holds the position of Director of Education at the Commemorative Air Force since 2020. Prior to that, Brenda worked for Grand Prairie ISD for a significant period of time, starting in 2013 as a Natural Science Education Center Program Facilitator. In this role, they were responsible for facilitating K-5 classrooms, training teachers in curriculum implementation, and supporting environmental education initiatives across all campuses. Before that, Brenda served as a Math & Science Strategist from 1998 to 2013 and as a Classroom Teacher from 1995 to 1998, both at Grand Prairie ISD. Brenda first began their teaching career as a Classroom Teacher at Aldine ISD from 1991 to 1995. Prior to that, Brenda gained experience as a Substitute Teacher in various districts in southwestern Michigan from 1990 to 1991.

Brenda Townsend obtained their Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with triple minors in Math/Science and Art Education, from Western Michigan University. Brenda completed their undergraduate studies from 1984 to 1989. In addition to their degree, Brenda also holds certifications such as the Waste in Place Train the Trainer Certification from Keep America Beautiful, which they obtained in July 2017. Brenda is also a Tarrant County Master Gardener, certified by Texas A&M AgriLife, since January 2015.
