Patrick Olivares

Patrick Olivares has over 20 years of experience in product design, user experience, and user research. Patrick is currently working as the Senior Director of Product Design and User Research at CommentSold, a leading online live selling eCommerce platform in North America. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the product design and user research for over 4,000 live retailers.

Prior to their current position, Patrick worked as the Director of Digital Experience and Design at the Project Management Institute from 2020 to 2022. Patrick also served as the Senior Director of User Experience at PubMatic in 2019 and the Senior Director of UX Strategy & Design at Korn Ferry from 2017 to 2019.

Patrick has a strong background in leading UX practices and teams. Patrick established Korn Ferry's first Global Enterprise UX Practice, which consisted of over two dozen professionals. Patrick also founded and led the UX practice for SunGard AS's software team, where they integrated "Lean UX" methodologies into Agile software development and managed the Marketing Automation team.

Earlier in their career, Patrick held various UX leadership roles at Perficient, E-Tech Solutions, Inc., McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Radian, and AIG. Patrick successfully delivered multiple projects, developed multidisciplinary UX teams, and worked on web-based applications and portals for well-known organizations.

Patrick Olivares attended Rutgers University from 1993 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Design and Applied Arts with a focus on Art History. Prior to that, they studied at Pratt Institute from 1991 to 1992. Patrick also pursued additional education in Multimedia Design at the Association of Graphic Communications starting in 2000. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA) certification from Human Factors International in 2015, as well as a Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) certification from the same institution in 2013. Additionally, they hold an Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) certification from Disaster Recovery Institute, also obtained in 2013.
